reported blow out earnings last night up over 20% today.. 30 day avg volume is over 6 million So how come when I signed into my broker account this morning it said, “Unable to accept sell orders on this security”? chris

Are you sure you have shares? What that might mean is that they don't have any inventory for short sales.

I called them first (Scottrade) before I posted the question. They couldn't give me an answer. Said they would give me a phone number for UMC and I could call them.
The shares show in my account. Scottrade also said if I wanted to sell it would have to be done over the phone and not online. They also said it would not be done on a one for one basis.

Yes :cry: I've been snookered!
posted as closing up 23.42% yet I lost money on it.
Did some kind of reverse split with a cash payment payout.
Doesn't make any sense to me.
The open price of the stock should have been the previous day's close minus the reduction in this case 3.63 (former closing price) / .697 = 5.21 however it opened at 4.22 closed at 4.48
I feel that when they did the split they forgot to update the prices!
