As far as polls and options concern, small retail crowd was bullish at the top as usual imo, commercials are very bearish on the market too...they are still long the big contract but they are scaling out while they are increasing their short positions on gold to epic level....this pair trade based on the expectation for a big reversal in USD shall soon come to the fruition of course some perma bulls who were holding bags during the last 100 and 160 spx point plunges in march and july will once again disagree but hey that makes the market doesnt it remember public always make money in bull markets but they always overstay and get wiped out in the end

Remember all of those "Sell-Ifs", Most are confirmed sells now.
Last week, I posted this link at americanbulls.com

It showed lots of "sell-ifs" on Friday's close based on candlestick charts.
Yesterday most turned to confirmed sells.
Today many of the rest did.
Note that most of the "WAIT" signals went to "sells"yesterday.

My sell signals from 10/09/2007 I posted never changed on the way down, but I never took them that seriously enough, I was not long or unhedged during this decline and I am now mostly flat, but not because of any emotional attachment to the bull side, it is just the overwhelming upside momentum from the lows (even now) in the higher time frames. But the weekly momentum is now turning, I think this will still look as a correction until after Nov, but there might be more work to be done until Fed, it is also the 54 day or extended 10 week cycle low. There is also the seasonal low pressing down hard right now, yet I think Fed is willing to devalue more than plunging down hard.
