Okay, I was given this pet rabbit (long story) ... he was adorable, sweet, mellow and ohhhhhh soooo soft. I knew he wasn't neutered, but it didn't seem a problem ... THEN he started humping my leg ... and doing other undesirable actions (like spraying urine ... hey, it's a sign of courting affection ... gross !) So, I realized that I'll have to get him neutered. In the meantime I was also given another spayed FEMALE rabbit ... as they are supposedly much happier in pairs (AFTER neutered etc) .... well, they have been in separate cages, but my first rabbit is going CRAZY ... whenever he is let out, he runs around like a complete and utter maniac.
All I can say is - SEX is a powerful driving force ... be ye rabbit or human (at least rabbits don't shoot their spouses - although they have been known to eat their young - mmmmm, now that's a newspaper headline !)
I almost don't want to get him neutered ... because he'll probably turn into a passive, fat lump ... but, c'est la vie, mon ami.
Fascinating to watch those natural furry hormones make the poor ball of fluff turn into a crazed animal.
But, I might still end up with 2 reasonably content (if not passionately wild) bunnies.
Best, C.C.
