I thought our local boy, Garth Brooks had retired and Carrie Underwood was going to be a flash in the "American Idol" pan.

Guess I was wrong again.

Our beautiful Carrie has the #1 Pop AND Country album.

And Garth?
NINE sold out shows in Kansas City.

Garth Brooks' Nov. 14 concert in Kansas City will be simulcast in movie theaters around the world. Garth made the announcement yesterday at the opening of Kansas City's new Sprint Center arena, where he's set to play nine sold-out shows next month. Garth's wife Trisha Yearwood will also perform.

He's making the Tonight Show change it's recording schedule!

October 31, 2007 — For the first time in 18 years, NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" will record early on Monday, November 5, to accommodate Garth Brooks' Kansas City concert that night.
Garth, who accidentally double-booked the date, explains, "Jay Leno has launched every album for us the night before release. So I called and apologized. They called me back and moved the [5 p.m.] taping up."

Garth will tape his appearance at 1 p.m. in Los Angeles, then jet to Kansas City to perform, while millions at home watch him on TV. "It's gonna be tight, but it's gonna be fun," he says.

The next day, November 6, Garth's The Ultimate Hits collection will hit stores nationwide.
