DVN is one of the largest independent energy companies in the US. I think this guy is right on the money: "The greatest challenge" according to DVN At DVN's annual meeting, CEO Larry Nichols stated: "...Adverse governmental policies are a tremendous challenge to our country. For years, our politicians have had the benefit of being able to do whatever any environmentalist wanted to do in terms of restricting energy supplies while still being able to deliver cheap energy. But those days are over forever. And it is very sad to see so many of our elected officials trying to find someone else to blame for high energy costs. The reality is, our country has pursued an anti-energy policy for a long time. We have gotten away with it because we had so much surplus capacity. The capacity is now gone."
