blown through like poop through a tin horn.
Next target 155000 and then 154800. After that, it could be a long way down.
I just have trouble buying that today, but who knows?
Mark
BTW, where on earth does that (non sanitized) simile come from? Why would anyone want to put poop in a tin horn, anyway?
Looks like 155000 was hit while I was typing...

Mark,
Notice how many people were and are convinced that nothing can or will happen on Friday of OPEX. A serious move one war or another has happened before, it's not a super duper rare event. It may not have happened in a while, but it happened plenty of times. In fact this very Friday 5 years ago the market got ransacked badly.
I think the complacency and the conditioning has worked remarkably well in allowing people to be extremely bullish heading into this day. Market always does what we least expect it to do and with a topping formating over the past week a good healthy slide is not out of the question. It's the perfect response to what everyone believes should be an up day.

C down on what should be very outstanding news. Also, the psychology behind the financials is trash. This should have launched C and JPM---but it didn't. Obviously, the day is not over yet.

I have one of those "where were you when Kennedy was shot" moments.convinced that nothing can or will happen on Friday of OPEX
I remember being at a Louisanna casino on an OPEX Friday and it was down hard that day.
It seems like it recovered the following week.
It was at least a decade ago.
It was a beautiful setup for a casino hotel.
With boat slips for boat owners pulling in from the gulf (with "room" service) and a large RV park full of Bluebird motor homes.
It's "Gone with the Wind" now, thanks to Katrina.
