Why don't we all cut back a little, and live like global warming alarmist Tom Friedman?

The thing that blew me away was not merely the scale and sheer richness of their home — which was impressive; it was the fact that it was the home of a journalist-writer-pundit. Being an avid consumer of mainstream punditry, I always naively envision people like Tom Friedman living in a comfortable yet modest apartment on West End Avenue, with a couple of comfortable rooms and a big office somewhere with papers and books everywhere.

Check out Friedman's house here:

The property is listed on the tax rolls for [well over $9,000,000]. It makes me feel better that those who preach environmentalism practice such a modest intrusion on the environment itself.

Friedman - NYT today 11-18-09

"climate bill with a price on carbon"

That says it all.
It's about taking wealth and "spreading it around" based on, at best, a questionable theory of carbon's effect on the atmosphere.

The "crisis" is so urgent that it's proponents have to fly in private jets to give speeches about changing our lightbulbs (made by GE, a big political player in all of this.)

How many decades does it have to cool before you say, "Ooops, I was wrong!"?

Just curious.

Friedman says I'm wrong, but he can't prove it. That's a fact. Anything he claims comes from questionable data and unrepeatable data manipulations.

On the other hand, we've got plenty of peer reviewed data that suggests that the warming we've seen is perfectly natural and not even close to unprecedented.

With our economy in the shape it's in, (which by it's very recession is using less carbon) we are in no position to add any tax much less a carbon tax.

$12,031,299,186,290.07 in debt and rising.

California budget shortfall to top $21B...

...targets TVs to lower electricity demand

Fines for too-tall grass could rise to $1,000 a day in Florida town...

And what will they do with any tax increase? Misspend it at best.
Take it for themselves and their friends at worst.

Improper government payments hit $98B...

Recently, the Center for Responsive Politics found that there are 237 millionaires in the US Congress.
While Nero fiddles.
