we already ban naked short selling - dont understand the fuss. now they have to ban naked positions in CDOs and CDSs - that would get the banks upset - but how will they ever read all the contracts to find out? there is no enforcement for this OTC stuff, but the on exchange bans effect the common Joe and Johan.

They are also including a financial transaction tax along with the ban on naked shorts. Of the two proposals, the financial transaction tax has the potential to be more debilitating in my opinion. No details yet on the financial transaction tax. IT
