I recognize that place... the bathroom at Mel's Diner after a hearty night of drinking and partying...

Are you any relation to Salvadore Dali?

I wish ISH! Boy he was good a true genius. I have had the pleasure to study his work up close and plan to again this October in Paris and Madrid. There is a real good Museum of his in St Pete FL. Some of his best.

Well, for what my humble opinion is worth, you're right up there. Remember, T.S Eliot was a bank clerk. You never know where the next artistic genius will be discovered.

Nice, Z. TA is art.

Dali's estate has one of the slickest marketing organizations
in the biz. To me, it (irrationally, perhaps) demeans his
accomplishments, to see his minor work pumped on late night TV.

Used to frequent The Old Print Shop in NYC looking for antiquarian
views and maps of the West Indies. Lady there had some deal
with the estate and had Dali prints just everywhere. Mucho hype.

Wow ISH thanks. If I reach a fraction of his ability I would die a happy man.

I love Barcelona K. I will be stopping there for 4 days before Madrid. I will be staying a block from the "La Rambla" toward the gothic center and several blocks from the Picasso Museum. I love Gaudi's work as I have also designed 18 homes for folks. I do not do it anymore just wanted to know I could and enjoyed the process. I taught myself btw. Funniest thing on 3 of the homes I caught 5 mistakes in total on load and stress points the engineers put in that they never caught. I am proud to say they never found a mistake in my desgins on the engineering end and six of the homes were 3 stories. :)

To go to Spain and not stop by Barcelona is a sin.

You right about TA being an art M.

That is sad to hear about those Dali works.

dali himself was in on the commercialism

as any great trader he appreciated the imperfect condition, and i am sure he would actually have no problem with his work being hyped on late night tv (actually a great fit if you ask me)

sure in a traditional and conventional way it could be seen as demeaning, but of course it depends on which eyes are viewing ;-)

Indeed, Dali himself embraced the medium.
