Melee in Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island still stirring controversy
Two officers, one male and one female, arrived, and when the male tried to arrest Concepcion, a melee broke out, according to court papers. Concepcion started resisting, and Xiomara Reyes lunged toward the officer, police allege.

The crowd erupted after that — both officers were knocked down, and Ms. Reyes repeatedly kicked the female officer in the back of her head, ultimately causing a concussion and other injuries, according to police. Ms. Pearson and Ms. Lugo did the same to the male, court papers allege.

The officers were on the ground, being kicked and beaten at the time, when a firefighter from Engine 158 mounted the engine truck and let loose with its water cannon to disperse the crowd. Police backup arrived moments later.

Here's a good tip for anyone who finds himself shot by the offspring of "The Great Society":
Put your fingers in the bullet holes!

Marine shot 3 times in heist; survives by plugging holes with fingers...

Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham becoming 'no-go areas' because of drugs gangs... just like Mexico and Brazil says the UNITED NATIONS

UN narcotics chief: Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool are comparable to Brazil and Mexico for their 'no-go' areas

Badly managed large scale immigration fuels the problem

'Drug traffickers, organised crime, drug users - they take over'

Celebrity use of drugs is helping to 'normalise use' in society

Illegal internet pharmacies are targeting young people online through sites such as Facebook and YouTube, a United Nations drugs chief warned today.

Professor Hamid Ghodse, president of the UNís International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), said illegal internet pharmacies were becoming 'very sophisticated' in approaching young people on social media sites, leaving them 'very vulnerable' online.

He warned young people to be aware of whom they were talking to and interacting with on the internet.

'Disturbingly, illegal internet pharmacies have started to use social media to publicise their websites, which can put large audiences at risk of dangerous products,' Prof Ghodse said.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has found more than half of medicines from internet pharmacies are counterfeit, he added.

'This has become really rather sinister now,' he said, 'it is much more widespread than you can believe it is.

Defenders of the status quo are always stronger than reformers seeking change,
UNTIL the status quo self-destructs from its own corruption, and the reformers are free to build on its ashes.

More than 30 Women Involved in Massive Street Brawl Over FACEBOOK Comments...

SACRAMENTO – More than 30 women brawled in the street, all reportedly over Facebook posts.
“Two people really sustained major injuries,” Sacramento Police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said.
This time it was a mob of women fighting over Facebook, but business owners nearby say witnessing violence is nothing new.
“Around here? It happens a lot,” Brandon said. “It doesn’t surprise me.”

"200 children headed northbound"

"Where are their parents?"

“They went in, they started going everywhere in the store, grabbing things and then they just run out. And I knew that they didn’t buy it because they just run out,” Kendra Mellerson said. “They ran that way and they ran that way. And the guy was trying to come out and stop them but they couldn’t because there was so many.”

But really, who needs parents when you have the Great Society and a Village to raise them?

Man who had 30 kids with 11 women wants child-support break
He has 30 children with 11 women. And nine of those children were born in the last three years, after Hatchett -- who is something of a local celebrity -- vowed "I'm done!" in a 2009 TV interview, saying he wouldn't father more children.

How has this affected our declining culture?

Fathers disappear from households across America...

Nicole Hawkins’ three daughters have matching glittery boots, but none has the same father. Each has uniquely colored ties in her hair, but none has a dad present in her life.

As another single mother on Sumner Road decked her row-house stoop with Christmas lights and a plastic Santa, Ms. Hawkins recalled that her middle child’s father has never spent a holiday or birthday with her. In her neighborhood in Southeast Washington, 1 in 10 children live with both parents, and 84 percent live with only their mother.

In every state, the portion of families where children have two parents, rather than one, has dropped significantly over the past decade. Even as the country added 160,000 families with children, the number of two-parent households decreased by 1.2 million. Fifteen million U.S. children, or 1 in 3, live without a father, and nearly 5 million live without a mother. In 1960, just 11 percent of American children lived in homes without fathers.
America is awash in poverty, crime, drugs and other problems, but more than perhaps anything else, it all comes down to this, said Vincent DiCaro, vice president of the National Fatherhood Initiative: Deal with absent fathers, and the rest follows.
People “look at a child in need, in poverty or failing in school, and ask, ‘What can we do to help?’ But what we do is ask, ‘Why does that child need help in the first place?’ And the answer is often it’s because [the child lacks] a responsible and involved father,” he said.
The spiral continues each year. Married couples with children have an average income of $80,000, compared with $24,000 for single mothers.

But it appears that the Great Society has made it profitable to not have a father around, when benefits are considered.
Why a single mom is better off with a $29,000 job and welfare than taking a $69,000 job
