Rodger, it sounds like you are just using his forum. Are you able to follow Terry's updates without purchasing his T-Theory Encyclopedia?

Sure.
I think that most of the information in the "Encyclopedia" used to be freely available at: http://ttheory.typepad.com/
I see that the original site has been scrubbed now.

Week after week, month after month, we have posts and discussion about T Theory. I don't hear about anyone making any money from Terry's observations. All this time: Contributors such as NAV, Techman, Vitaminm, Senor, and others are making contributions that put money in your pocket each week or each month.

However, I did fork over the $99 (or whatever) for the year out of curiosity. :D

Please don't tell Clark Howard.
He will be so disappointed in me. :)

I put some money with Terry's investment company in January 2010. As of the end of September 2011, the account was up 24.8% over the last 7 quarters.

Is that the best bond strategy? I like that concept and might open an account with him.

I paid for the forum.

Yup, it's the best bond strategy plus whatever else he wants to buy, like gold. 2010 was only a fair year for Terry but this year his timing on the best bond strategy was great. Buying into T-Bonds and gold in 2011 was an excellent move and he did it early in the year before everyone started climbing aboard.

I had watched Terry for years and finally decided to put some money with him. After opening a account, I started duplicating his trades in ETFs instead of mutual funds. While Terry was in mutual funds and I was in ETFs, I was able to trade quickly and not overstay the position as so often happens in mutual funds. At times this gave me a better performance record than Terry.

In mid 2010 I wrote to Terry and urged him to use some ETFs and give himself the liberty of trading more frequently. Eventually he got the message and is now using ETFs. I imagine he got the same recommendation from a lot of clients.

Hi Bob.
Thanks for the update on Terry.
In this weekend's Bond update ( BestBond™Strategy ) Terry mentions using the ETFs such as TLT and IEF to trade but using various Fund's performance as a benchmark, since many of the funds have a longer historical record, but higher fees.

I came up with this "confidence" indicator based on etfs which can be traded anytime during the day.
JNK was a screaming buy at the first of October when it made a bullish reversal bottom.
However note how it has fallen since Terry's predicted late October top.
