SUN UNLEASHES 'MONSTER ERUPTION'...

The sun is currently in the middle of an active phase of its 11-year solar weather cycle. The current cycle is called Solar Cycle 24 and is expected to peak in 2013.

We better fire a water canon at the sun and our troubles will be over.

There has been no warming for sixteen years, and prior to that most of the warming was due to the air clearing after the 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.

Current temperatures are about the same as they were in 1991 before Pinatubo erupted

Only in climate science can your prediction be out by more than 100% and you’re declared brilliant.

I remember in junior high school being told the world was made up of electrons, protons, and neutrons. They forgot to tell me about the morons!

A lot of people have been fooled badly. They have taken true but trivial statements as implying quite the opposite of what they do.

The official climate authorities in America, Britain and Australia constantly stress how hot recent years have been. You hear of some recent year being
"the fifth hottest on record", "the third highest on record" etc. etc.

But those statements do not mention BY HOW MUCH the years differ from one another. And in fact the years nearly all differ by ONLY HUNDREDTHS
of one degree, an almost unimaginably tiny amount.

"Hottest temperature on record" (by a hundredth of a degree) reminds me of companies that announce "beating quarterly earnings estimates" (by a penny) ---

Rajendra Pachauri looks at a graph and sees a straight line

The UN’s climate change chief, Rajendra Pachauri, has acknowledged a 17-year pause in global temperature rises, confirmed recently by Britain’s Met Office

The warming pause extends by every measure to more than 15 years:

For RSS the warming is not significant for over 23 years…

For UAH the warming is not significant for over 19 years…

For Hadcrut3 the warming is not significant for over 19 years…

For Hadcrut4 the warming is not significant for over 18 years…

For GISS the warming is not significant for over 17 years...

Once warmists said 15 years of no statistically significant warming invalidated their models. Draw your own conclusions.

"warmists said"

Warm-ists should now be called "Change-ists".

20-year hiatus in rising temperatures has climate scientists 'puzzled'...

Research by Ed Hawkins of University of Reading shows surface temperatures since 2005 are already at the low end of the range projections derived from 20 climate models and if they remain flat, they will fall outside the models' range within a few years.
"The global temperature standstill shows that climate models are diverging from observations," says David Whitehouse of the Global Warming Policy Foundation.
"If we have not passed it already, we are on the threshold of global observations becoming incompatible with the consensus theory of climate change," he says.

The 2003 heatwave in Britain was extraordinary. It was blamed for 2,000 deaths.
Sir David King, later declared that climate change was “more serious even than the threat of terrorism” in terms of the number of lives that could be lost. Such language is never used about the cold, which kills at least 10 times as many people every winter. Before long, every political party had signed up to the green agenda.

Since Sir David’s exhortations, some 250,000 Brits have died from the cold, and 10,000 from the heat. It is horribly clear that we have been focusing on the wrong enemy. Instead of making sure energy was affordable, ministers have been trying to make it more expensive, with carbon price floors and emissions trading schemes. Fuel prices have doubled over seven years, forcing millions to choose between heat and food – and government has found itself a major part of the problem.

Last winter was relatively mild in Britain, and still 24,000 perished from the cold. The indications are that this winter, which has dragged on so long and with such brutality, will claim 30,000 lives, making it one of the biggest killers in the country. And still, no one seems upset.

FREEZING WEATHER WIPES OUT GERMAN FLEA CIRCUS...
Birk said it was the first time his circus had lost all of its fleas to the cold in one go.

REPORT: Germany Spends $110 Billion to Delay Global Warming by 37 Hours...

Bjorn Lomborg claimed last night that money isn't being spent well to combat "global warming".
"Global warming is real," said Lomborg, "and it is we need to fix. But we should fix it smartly, and not in a very, very costly way as we're doing it now. Germany is probably spending $660 for every ton of CO2 they're cutting."
"The Germans are spending about $110 billion on subsidies for these solar panels," said Lomborg. "The net effect of all those investments will be to postpone global warming by 37 hours by the end of the century."

I wonder which "friend" of the politicians is getting all of that money...quid pro quo.
I thought Kaiser was just a local Tulsa boy. B)

Friday will be April 19 and we have a freeze warning as the cold continues to put a damper on spring.
The recent economic reports are blaming the cold weather for poor sales. (Not the payroll tax increase.)

And please ignore the fact that the Sun has been unusually quiet during this forecast period of Solar Maximum.
"Something unexpected is happening on the Sun. 2013 was supposed to be the year of "solar maximum," the peak of the 11-year sunspot cycle. Yet 2013 has arrived and solar activity is relatively low. Sunspot numbers are well below their values from 2011, and strong solar flares have been infrequent."

(We all know that the Sun has NO bearing on the earth.) ;)

Even some "Expert" believers are losing faith.

Climate scientists struggle to explain warming slowdown...

Scientists are struggling to explain a slowdown in climate change that has exposed gaps in their understanding and defies a rise in global greenhouse gas emissions.
Often focused on century-long trends, most climate models failed to predict that the temperature rise would slow, starting around 2000.

"The climate system is not quite so simple as people thought," said Bjorn Lomborg.
"My own confidence in the data has gone down in the past five years," said Richard Tol, an "expert" in climate change and professor of economics at the University of Sussex in England.
