But yes the commercials keep selling into a gold price rise until they bring it down, take their profits and start over. The hedge funds (large specs) are the patsies.

 

As of today the commercials are short a mere 344,000 contracts, and total gold futures OI is 500,443 contracts.

To get you  and me in perspective, the small spec bulls are 42,000 contracts.

would not be surprised to see a near term top here, I exited a few longs as I am out of touch with the markets for 2-3 weeks as I hike the TMB and do other stuff in Europe. So will have a few GTC buys in on a few selected issues and maintain a 10% core holding. GLTA to all and see ya in later Sep

i have seen the commercials get overrun.  @ a price they too run for cover

a good strong close today above 1300 will open the door for higher prices.  so far today the sector looks great

it all comes down to the close, are traders willing to hold their positions overnight?  if so then we get a strong close

there are so many spinning plates. right now dalio is seen as conservative, will he still look conservative if he doubles his gold position???

wahoo Senor, have a great time!   Gold is breaking out, I expect this rally to keep going into late October. A 2 bagger should be in the cards for NUGT from my initial 31 but probably a lot more, maybe summer 2016's high of 140ish.
