In this conversation the Chinese demanded US not to implement the tariffs on the additional $300 billions of Chinese goods on Sept 1 but got refused. Nothing has changed and still in stalemate ...............

and it i the US that approached China
and one wonders if there is quid pro quo, e.g. Hong Kong is your internal issue that you are free to deal with how you want.
