With August shaping up to be the calmest month this year for US stocks, traders are closely watching Friday’s $2 trillion options expiration for hints whether the tranquility will last. At issue is the belief that derivatives markets have somehow played a key role in suppressing volatility, thereby compelling rules-based quant traders to buy shares and in turn luring a broader group of investors back into the market in order to chase gains.

Big swing down overnight -- well, only 1%, but it is BIG compared with recent low-range market activity

 

I am tempted to keep SHORTS and add another hedge or two but... it is already August 19th, could be a slow final week of August and I will be away for a few days to rest & refresh, then return for that most important final 4 months of the YEAR --- especially SEP & OCT.

 

So, I have started closing just a few and then more later today

Not good for equities

 

Sorry to say but it could be a very bad winter for Uk, EUROPE, stocks... also CHINA not able to recover & stlll reeling from COVID surges

Yesterday, bears had to hold 4295 in #ES_F to keep 4255, 4235 in play.

After multiple shots succeeded overnight, 4255 target 1 hit so far

Plan today: Bulls must clear 4260 to trigger rally direct (4290-4300,breakout).

Otherwise, 4225-35 in play (4205 below - must hold for bulls)
