Italy's costs to import energy will double to 100 billion euros

 

 

CERNOBBIO, Italy (Reuters) -Italy's net energy import costs are set to more than double this year to nearly 100 billion euros ($99.5 billion), the economy minister said, warning Rome could not spend indefinitely to cushion the blow on the economy.

Italy relies on imports for three-quarters of its power consumption, increasing its vulnerability to Europe's current energy crisis.

I will make money on that..........no matter if up or down, what matters is that it moves. By the way Germany is in worse condition with regards to gas demand and the rest of Europe more or less is not that better. So let's all chant in chorus.....''don' t worry and be happy''

EXPENSIVE and unreliable Green energy in USA while China and India are building 150 NEW coal fired power plants right now. That is 2nd cheapest source of energy after hydro power. Translation---American manufacturing is at increasing competitive handicap. Did you hear electrical car batteries can not be recharged during peak A/C hours in CA? And it will cost upto $20,000 to replace dead car battery?

there are other forms to produce energy........clean nuclear for industries and photovoltaic on buildings' tops to make every single house independent from the national distribution of energy

Many people oppose nuclear energy because it produces radio-active waste.

Nuclear is more expensive power than coal. Because it requires sophisticated construction and monitoring.

Dont want another Chernobyl or 3 Mile Island incidents.

However properly designed and operated nuclear power is safer than wind power.

Fukushima was a very bad place.....near the coast. An earthquake with epicenter in the ocean caused a tsunami that hit the coast exactly where fukushima is located. They built an ultra solid building in the wrong place

The whole country of Japan is earthquake risk. The design flaw of Fukushima was the cooling fluid circulation pumps were in the wrong place. When the reactor suffered damage, the pumps also got damaged and result was uncontrolled nuclear fission.
