I'm always curious why the CME says that futures are following the holidays but they're barely closed lol!!  Looked at them once yesterday at the open then left it till last night at bedtime lol!!  Was surprised it was up but had a feeling we'd be down today as bond rates were backing up and going into the cash open its coming back again but I wouldn't be surprised to see more downside as we get going if rates hold the levels were at.  Besides that as d mentioned the put/call ratio is at extremes along with call prices themselves.  Most importantly real people are back from holidays so volume will be higher and reality will hit.  The economy is slowing, the Fed will hold rates where they're at for some time to come so what were waiting for is that flip of sentiment that maybe the economy will see something more than just a soft landing.  A harder landing with the estimated earnings levels for companies will create a shock and now that were in the fall season where you can wake up to -5% fall for little reason, its a good time to be cautious I think.

Okay that's funny, I was talking about a soft landing and whalla, just saw the chart that shows google search for soft landings and it is now at record highs, way higher then 2008 lol!!  Gotta learn how to put up charts on here lol!!
