Aluminum, nickel prices surge after fresh sanctions on Russian metals

Shares of aluminum producer Alcoa Corp. jumped 5.4%

With the exception of metals produced before midnight Saturday in London, new Russian metals, aluminum, copper and nickel, will not be allowed to be traded on the London Metal Exchange or Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
