Corn tortilla crisis

dcengr: This corn craze is going to get every farmer growing corn instead of everything else.. naturally making the cost of soybeans, etc grow more expensive... then there'll be a gigantic glut of corn, and the market will crash. It won't happen until harvest time, of course.

Corn planting is up 15%
But Soybean planting drops 19%
Prices are inverse.

... just a wee anecdotal observation, but soy milk is now going mainstream. I used to have to get it at specialty health food stores .... but now it's everywhere ... and not just the warm, long lasting shelf stuff, but the fresh refridgerated version too. Even tastes good.

Soy milk for the masses ... whodda thunk it!

I went to a Viet Nam restaurant last week and ate soy beef, pork, and chicken.
I was very surprised. It was great!
