no matter what the news is now it will be spun as good. the media and wall street have become more and more biased. At the last fed meeting Bob Pisanti was talking about how good Bernake and the gang have gotten at "speaking in the right way" and "telling the market what they want to hear" all you have do it watch the business for awhile and you can see the game that is being played. $100/barrel of oil is going to be hard to spin though and things might unravel. Of course we have new Patriot laws to ensure order if things get out of control. Read George Orwell's 1984

Don't be surprised them instituting some tough laws about the short selling all of a sudden too. I am seeing day and night the destruction caused by the short selling on Bloomberg now. They realized they can not pump this market up forever without the buying of the Treasuries by the foreign gov'ts and they are slowing down their buying. They will squeeze the shorts out by instituting laws eventually, if they have to. Apparently, this happened many times in the history, it looks like whenever the big brokers could not handle a market segment of their own, they went to Washington to get them to pass a law to curb the trading in their favor and protect their businesses. The unrest about the economy and the short selling are mounting, they will not let the public take advantage of them, if they realize they can not hold it up. In fact, the creation of the Fed is the primary reason and the absolute control about the money supply is due to these. Instead of passing laws, they were able to simply print money. However, whenever they print money, they have to have a counter party to hold the bonds, so far the foreign central banks did this... - kisa
