Supermoon warning:

The next and probably biggest round of meteorological and seismic disturbances of the month will likely come in the April 14-21 time frame, under the aegis of the year's second SuperMoon...

This will be a time to be safety-conscious and extra cautious, to keep your guard up. Failing that, it's so easy to become a statistic - and many people will. You'll see it in the news of the day, the "if it bleeds, it leads" stuff.

NEIVA, Colombia (AP) - Thousands of people were evacuated after a long-dormant volcano erupted late Tuesday and again early Wednesday, provoking avalanches and floods that swept away houses and bridges.

The Nevado del Huila volcano's eruptions were its first on record since Colombia was colonized by the Spanish 500 years ago.


A magnitude-5 earthquake struck northern California early today, the US Geological Survey said.
