I think so, but we've been getting tons of high readings. This one was a doozy.

I think that shows that the bottom is in, unless it goes lower. Again. As it did in March. <_<

Mark, I went back again over the data thru 05. A signal 100 or over almost always resolves in the direction of the 5 sma of price, fwiw.

Back to SPX 1490/1505 would be no big deal. Back to 1555 would not be out of the ordinary. But then what? It's not the direction that gets you -- it's the volatility.

One last week of a rally should wrap it up

Hey Mark, I'm the retired guy who fishes and occasionally daytrades when I think there is a profitable setup. So far, we have been on the same side in the last few trades and I hope the luck last. On Friday, I went all in on the close buying the Dow 30. I will be catching redfish and trout in the morning, but I will be glued to the computer later in the day. I was able to retire at age 52, but this trade may have me working part time at WalMart if there is a gigantic move downward. FrankT

Frank, Have you seen the new Walmart "greeter" uniforms lately ... you might want to re-think the risk you're taking. :P

Hey Calm, That is the way I have lived my life. If I am wrong, I am willing to pay the price and, yes, I was at WalMart today and I like the uniforms. The only reason I was able to retire early was because I usually went against the consensus wisdom, usually espoused by the addictive Kudlow or BJ Marie on CNBC. I once thought waterfront property in Florida was my final retirement place in 2000, but after it tripled in value by August of 2005, I had to sell and move to the Texas coast. If only I could repeat that decision. FrankT
