The question claimed as fact something that is not true. What does that say about the intelligence? or research? or character? of the people that create those shows.

Why are we willing to believe something that on second thought is highly doubtful.

Googling suggests it was taken from either "13 percent -- of Americans between the age of 18 and 24, the prime age for military warriors, could find Iraq. The score was the same for Iran, an Iraqi neighbor. "

or "only 17 percent of young adults in the United States could find Afghanistan on a map, according to a new worldwide survey released today. "

The question claimed that a recent poll or polls show that a fifth of Americans cannot locate the US on a world map. They did not cite the poll but we have little reason to suspect they lied. Had she questioned the basis of the question that would have been interesting, but probably lost her the contest!

Of more interest was how lame and disjointed her response was. Her inablity to form a coherent response clearly appeared to place her in the group of individuals who educational experience was lacking.

And I'd like to say for the record that "I want world peace for all the little children".

In the end we retain from our studies only that which we practically apply.
