Mark, The three amigos (no i am not talking about denleo, oqm and da_cheif  ) , DOW, EURO and GOLD all move in tandem. It's all about that liquidity. I am sick of two words - Liquidity and Subprime. :D Euro is showing weakness today and is way below it's 9/28 swing high and close to a 120-min sell. Gold is below it's 10/1 swing high and showing weakness edging to a 120-min sell. DOW is already on a 120-min sell and has had two breakout failures, Will third time be a charm ? Will the overnight shenanigans reverse all the three markets ? We'll see... Since i am posting so much today, most likely i will be wrong and they will bust thru all those swing highs

At the risk of repeition.... the "momentum" is up... period... There are only chances for "extreme" short term shorts. I took a small OEX put position on Tuesday night because the close was a tired late pop and bailed iwth a profit (too early) yesterday morning. Then sat on the 725 horizontal support line and went back long with OEX OCT 735 calls, sold a few late in the day, but the rally showed strength and I bought a few back and held overnight. Now I'll probably unload those too soon, with a profit, oh well. The point I tried to make in my "idle thoughts" post is that in a TREND market you'll get killed if you try to treat it like a TRADING market, for anything other than zip zap in/out trades... mm remember: there will be plenty of time for safer, longer term shorts again in the future. Count to ten, take a deep breath..

MM,

Who's talking about long term shorts ? The title of the thread is VST (very short term) thoughts. You reading faster than i am typing. Take a deep breath .... :D

Just day trades. For the track record at timer digest, still long from about the same time as you. Now is NOT the time to position for an IT sell off. I really want to stress that. Mark

Hit me with a bigger stick! Short ES 83.25 with a stop at 88.50. Risking the es profit from yesterday.
