looks like the bottom is in
when i 1st started in this biz i read 2 books. one was battle for investment survival by loeb. in the book, skipping ahead here. he said you start out by buying 10 stocks. then as you progress you buy 3. and as you get really good , you buy one. i look @sectors like that. ie, you buy one sector. i am expert in gold technicals. i watch that market day in and day out. when i get spread thin, i am master of nothing.

Looks like Wave 2 of 5 done here - if so should see continuation of Friday's reversal toward new highs this week. If still in Wave C of 4 - Friday's reversal will falter and a Wave 3 of C will be evident.

Weekly chart also constructive - however another down week would turn signals negative, while positive follow through from Friday would result in positive MACD cross.

Again - an important week - dharma - you sure "nailed" the "critical" timeframe!!!!

i suspect that like katrina, the crises that is japan, will have horrendous results over time. shutting down their manufacturing base, will exasperate their economic problems. i look for higher gold prices over the next week, maybe 2. @some point soon, i move into sell mode. by the way, i am not for qe or any of its forms. i am not for fiat currency either. in fact none or hardly any of the policies that are in place are constructive to sound economic policies. anyway, the metals balloon will have a set back , which i want to be a buyer of . silvers moves are going to be more pronounced going up or down. dharma

dharma: are your targets always dates not date plus price?

dougie- dates are a constant , price is not. price can be under/over shot.
gann-when time is up, the trend will change.
good enough for me! i try to simplify my life. and everything that is in life.

the cycle highs for the metals are next week:
19th the full moon- gold generally rises into the full moon
20th season change- gann noted the seasons change can cause trend changes in the markets
24th cycle highs
28th jupiter/saturn in opposition. should cause trend change or contraction
my plan is to start selling later this week, i want to raise cash as i think there will be a correction in the metals.
dharma
ps. all those who bought into the commodity boom spilling over into uranium will have to wait a very long long time for uranium to gain some lustre
my focus is the metals and here it will remain for the duration of the bull.
sure the other commodities can do well, but they will do so , w/o me.
what about diversification??!
i addressed it when referring to the loeb book. i have enough confidence in the trend to focus on one item. sure it causes bigger drawdowns and larger appreciation. so what. in my lifetime, over time, the value of the dollar has gone in one direction only. it has gone down, less pp. and until there is sound currency that will continue.
bull markets end only one way!

dharma:

Stopped out of both positions in Uranium last Thursday (CCJ & DNN), BEFORE the events in Japan - go figure. May add to some Natural Gas positions here as "there day may finally be beginning" - favorite is still CHK.
