I am always amazed by the US and its supposed Christian culture.
It has no Christian culture.
It has a form thereof but no real commitment.
The Bible says "they shall beat their swords into plowshares".
It says "they that live by the sword will die by the sword".
It says "turn the other cheek to those that strike you".
So why this thing about weapons.
The US is not Christian, it is anything but.
The Bible says, "by their fruits ye shall know them".
So it seems it is a case of "begone, I never knew you".

You know that the topic of Religion is not normally permitted on this site and would be blocked.
However because have made religious statements so far out of the Biblical context I must refute them and allow those who wish to read the true context of your statements.

1)The Bible says "they shall beat their swords into plowshares".
Refers to nations having wars with each other. (Isaiah, Joel, Micah)

2)It says "they that live by the sword will die by the sword".
Not a true Bible statement nor reference.

3)It says "turn the other cheek to those that strike you".
Refers to loving your neighbor, (Matthew, Luke)

4)The Bible says, "by their fruits ye shall know them".
Refers to false prophets.

I like this one the best, it reminds me of YOU.
5)"begone, I never knew you".
Refers to evil doers entering into heaven clamming to be Christians.

If your going to quote KJV of the Bible stay in the true context of the verses.

AGAIN, REFRAIN FROM RELIGIOUS POSTINGS.

mss My arguments aren't religious. They are philosophical. I am an atheist. But I acknowledge the truth is various scriptures as well. My posts are about truth and reality and beliefs and how they apply to our lives. It isn't as a proponent of any religion. These aspects must be considered in any discussion of the recent atrocity. If not then no change can be forthcoming.

I have been asking: "Where are the parents?"

Violent Video Game Website Announces 24-Hour Cease-Fire to 'Respect' Sandy Hook Victims...

Why? It's just fun entertainment where you get rewarded by killing as many humans as possible...

Now if the object was killing animals there would be an uproar, but not so when killing people.

Just a game...just a movie, just a video, just a rap song, just plain fun...

M.I.A.'s bloody new music video, 'Born Free'
A young redhead is shot at close range and a bomb blows another man to pieces in graphic detail.
YouTube banned the video.
Why? It's just entertainment!

Stupid foreigners have censorship like the U.S. had in the 1950's.
They are so behind the violent times enjoyed here in the U.S.
How dumb can they be?
They should get liberated like us!

Censorship of video games and Internet sites hosted in Australia are considered to be the strictest in the western world.
Aussies must be the dumbest!
How can you have mass killings without practice?

PS: IMHO lack of censorship BY PARENTS is our problem.

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

mss

My arguments aren't religious.

They are philosophical.

They also ignore FAR too many facts.

The PERCEPTION is that violent and gun crime is getting far WORSE.

Steady Decline in US Major Crime Baffles Experts

By RICHARD A. OPPEL Jr.
New York Times

The number of violent crimes in the United States dropped significantly last year, to what appeared to be the lowest rate in nearly 40 years, a development that was considered puzzling partly because it ran counter to the prevailing expectation that crime would increase during a recession. (and the increase of legal guns owned?)

In all regions, the country appears to be safer. The odds of being murdered or robbed are now less than half of what they were in the early 1990s,

ALL the gun nuts (haters) are up in arms (pun intended) over so called "assault rifles". Why not baseball bats?

From latest reports, of all murders in the US, a little more than 600 were by blunt instruments like baseball bats -- 300 by rifles of ALL kinds (including a minority by "assault rifles"). ALL rifles = about the same amount as murder by bare hands and/or feet.

Well over 90 percent of gun crimes were done with hand guns that were ALREADY completely illegal.

Now, how 'bout you get off the pulpit and tell us how YOU would get rid of illegal guns in the hands of criminals -- something we ALL would love to happen!!!!

Today's local headline:
Three die in separate vehicle crashes Friday, Saturday

No calls yet to ban the automobile. <_<

Locally:
Number of Deaths Due to Injury by Firearms per 100,000 Population 14.5
Number of Deaths Due to Motor Vehicle Accidents per 100,000 Population 20

Facts don't matter

Question: Australia shares a common border with which other country?
A country which is also governed by a drug cartel?

Four Texas police officers arrested in cocaine smuggling probe
HOUSTON -- Four South Texas law enforcement officers, including the sons of a local police chief and sheriff, are accused of taking thousands of dollars in bribes to guard shipments of cocaine guns, marijuana, (insert banned item here) that were smuggled across the border.

When guns are outlawed in the U.S. I wonder where the illegal guns will come from?
When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have 'em. DUH! :purebs:

Drug Smugglers Shoot Drugs Across Border with Cannon
"The more and more successful we are, the more and more unique they become in trying to get the drugs guns, marijuana, (insert banned item here) across."
