andr99, forests are cleared mainly for farming. Farmers do not plant sand, they plant crops which grow faster than trees and absorb more CO2 than trees. For example a corn planting grows from 0 cm to 2 meters in just 4-5 months.
And when I built this house 2 years ago, I planted grass which grows so much I have to mow evert 3 days. And look at the forest behind my house!
We planted Clover this year way nicer than grass and doesn't grow so much same effect!!

Here in America's heartland we have broken the all time low temperatures for the past 2 years.
Never mind. Cold doesn't sell even though more humans die from cold than from heat. Who cares?

Extreme cold winters was the main reason I got out of Chicago area after retiring at age 57.
Moved to WA state because it has milder winters and no state income tax. But even those
damp & cold winters got to me and moved to Florida at age 75. Love Florida!

Yea... It has been extremely cool Summer in Texas this year... It has been nice... Makes me think the climate change talk in California is self inflicted... Seriously, hydrocarbons have been a problem with pollution and the US has done a good job in reducing those over the last couple of decades.. India and China lag in this ability... Hydrocarbons can cause acid rain and stunt plant growth.. The world is getting better in combating these things.

What exactly is clover? Is it like ground cover? where did you get it? TIA

buying home there, besides being together with nice people with nice ideals and nice flags, brings the advantage that you don' t have to suffer heat waves in Summer. Today max temperature here where I am is going to be 32 °C. There where I would like to buy, today max temperature is going to be 22 °C. It's always 10 celsius degrees less than here, at an altitude of just one thousand meters above the sea level..........it's a PARADISE
Rich people in India have summer homes in what they call "Hill Stations".
They are always at higher altitude which keeps them cooler in summer.
I remember visiting a town called Ooty in south India. It was like the whole town was air-conditioned.
To get there was a little choo-choo train running on narrow gauge rails (another British term).

Is this it? Looks like dollar weed which is nearly impossible to kill.
I can possibly consider it for backyard. Our HOA requires St Augustine grass in front yard, no exceptions.
