Historically the stock market is more likely to go up in the first half of February and to go down in the second half.  Currently with the market in extremely over bought conditions and the turn of the seasonality this may be the start of the overdue correction .....................................

Powell's job is to manipulate the stock market for Wall Street, that's it. He purposely goosed the market going into the year-end, now he's walking it back only to goose it again when it comes out that Jan's CPI was an aberration due to beginning of the year.
