Yes. You can make international calls if they have a telephone.
If they have internet and the MagicJack, they can call you free.

Tell me how International friends, family and/or associates can save.

They can use a magicJack the same way you do to make and receive calls to US and Canada. It is a great way to save on international calling for anyone outside the US.

IF this thing works well AND I can eventually use my current home phone number, I will cancel my phone service and the savings will pay for my cable internet.

Stuff like this has potential to shake up both the telephone and cable telephone markets even more.

Of course, you must have internet access and electrical power for your computer and Cable modem if you use cable access.

But it's hard to beat $1.50 a month for unlimited phone use with all the bells and whistles and free long distance.

Now, What will the government do when they begin losing that tax from the Spanish American war, which is added to our phone bills?

hy RD are you sure that thing is legal? sounds like one of those cable descramblers. also, i don't make many long distance calls but i'm pretty sure they don't cost me any extra when i use my cell phone.

The telephone police are not here yet. So I think it's legal. Voice over internet is not new or illegal. As to quality, I've only had time to make one call and it was perfect. I did wonder where my voice mail was located, in my computer or their system. My MagicJack is unplugged and I called from my cell. It answered and allowed me to leave a message. I'll let you all know if I have any problems, etc. As far as free long distance, lot's of cell packages do include that since it costs the phone carriers virtually nothing. However for anyone who wants a portable 2nd phone line for $1.50/mo ...whoop, there it is.
