"How are these sub-continental countries doing so well and the developed nations at their knees?"

Probably little to no testing for covid ?

Sweden has been open for business. They don't seem to be faring much worse than countries with lockdowns. In fact, they have declining deaths and new cases.

Generally, lockdowns don't have much statistical support.

Among all >50m population countries - Bangladesh and India seem to be doing best in terms of per capita COVID confirmed cases and number of related deaths.

India: Population: Population 1300mn  Confirmed Cases 3.5k Total Deaths 99

Bangladesh: Population 165m Confirmed Cases 88 Total Deaths 9

Pakistan: Population 200m Confirmed Cases 3100 Total Deaths 45

RAW numbers mean nothing when you are comparing them among nations.  That John Hopkins look like it means something but it does not.

You have to analyse the numbers to include:

- number of tests

- location on the curve

-size of population

-demographics of population

-Vectors - number of infected in the population that spread the virus -  India and Bangladesh are not big tourist attractions for Chinese during the New Year.  So those two countries are most likely being infected by secondary vectors.

I hope you all saw the falling Pneumonia and other causes of deaths.

Not saying this thing is not serious or real or some percent of the problem or completely misunderstood cause with no solution yet.

A chart I have of NY deaths is near zero without comorbidities.

Italian total deaths age 65+ are still less than 2016, it was basically people with comorbidities that were dying this season already.

CDC latest said to list as CV death if "suspected". Some places are only reporting real CV deaths. A hospital person said they were told to

list all they can as CV to get more gov money.

That's the difference, governance.

A known personality said personally knows a long term cancer patient going into hospice to die. Was recorded as covid.

Maybe some climate differences in some places but did you see the train of Indians migrating back home from Europe? If India will be a problem

from that and its a real, should show up next week.

Hard to believe but the governance, death counts exactly match electoral college map see thegatewaypundit report on that with maps.

I was playing bridge on-line with a person from India, and I was told India is in total lockdown for 2 weeks, which can be extended if needed.

Its relevant because some on internet have said rediculous things that would kill people.

the NY doctors said they used 200mg twice daily these were people that were not at a point of hospitalization yet,

the French hospital doctor said 500mg twice for two days beginning from a late

ICU stage and then reduced to 200mg. I had the 200mg twice for about a year it goes by weight.

Some have said the original French Dr is a flake that overproduces literature and embellished data for attention but his trial was

repeated and confirmed by others.

Media is against using chloroquine because of WHO recommended it during the Corona-Virus news show on TV.

This virus has a couple of GLARING WEAKNESSES. If we just exploit it's weakness characteristics,

we won't need hospitalization, hydrochloroquine, ventilators, nurses, doctors, etc etc etc in the first place.

According to 2 doctors who work with covid-19 patients EVERY DAY,

Do NOT touch your face without washing hands with soap for 20 seconds. That will prevent 99% of infections.

SO simple, so easy, but people are obviously not doing it.

And I would include any opening in your body, do NOT TOUCH before washing hands first.

Oh, the other weakness of covid-19....it has hard time jumping for than 6 feet.

So stay away from ALL others that distance.

I am going to grocery stores, office max store, Walmart store, driving wife to cancer clinic every 3 weeks for chemo treatment and sitting in with the doctor and nurse, going to bank to get my gun from safe deposit box, mowing the lawn and doing all yard work, taking daily walks in the neighborhood, and came back from a cruise on Carnival ship Ecstasy on Feb 29th.

So what I am 80 years old, so long as I am washing my hands as required, I have 99% chance of NOT getting infected.

Not getting infected beats all the fantastic hospitals, fantastic medicines, fantastic ventilators etc etc. Oh, and I don't have any of those fancy N95 (?) masks. Actually I have not worn mask going out anywhere. I use those cheap masks when I am spraying weed killer in my yard, that's it.

Yes, this is how it is for now. Exactly.

Unfortunately, as of Friday, there were still five states not doing this as far as we can tell. I'm taking a lot of crap here for continuing to ring an alarm bell to that fact.

When, assuming, the virus dies down in all the stay-at-home states because they have practiced the social distancing of staying at home, it is likely the virus will live on in the five open states.  At that point, when everyone wants to open again for business, there is a chance we will have to learn all over again the virus, having jumped the Pacific Ocean to get to us, is not going to have any trouble driving the road from Fargo to Minneapolis, or from Little Rock to Dallas and beyond. If it does we will have to have a rerun of what a vast number of us are going through now.
