Well this is taking longer than I anticipated out for 1 point profit but want it higher just yet...

at 2:45pm, ES is at about 1.5% from the HIGH OF THE DAY

 

What is the probability ES can make a new HIGH of day? 0

can recover 0.5% by 4pm?   50%

 

can recover 1% by 4pm? 25%

 

leaning bearish until close and possibly tomorrow unless  ES closes above 4170

Today's intra-day reversal indicates this may be the very top for this bear market rally and the week may turn out to be the first down week in a while.  JMHO..........

Did the right thing with RISK-OFF trading in August, especially the first 2 weeks,  

I did miss another TESLA PUTS trade with overcautious LIMIT order but that's ok. I focused on NQ DAYTRADING, came out with just over $870 profit and continued to maintain net positive return in this month, so far. 

 

Market still in consolidation mode, tested upper range, expanded slightly and then dropped. 

 

SO WHICH WAY it breaks out?   For now, I think DOWN

Closing update #ES_F: Another chop day as we combine summer trading + waiting for CPI. Failed breakout to new highs not ideal for bulls though but as long as 4125 (4110 lowest) keep holding, 4205 still in play.

Slow starts after holidays so put more work on my pajama traders overnight but they appear to be sleeping too so no rogue short fills so I'm still in for a short from 4150, nice round even number with a profit stop now at 40 for the cash open.  Let the grind continue as chip stocks continue to make warnings and if there is anything more important than that on a slowdown coming it's that....  Besides that, call options remain way overinflated so think the market is going to continue to struggle here.  My expiration numbers are also indicating the S&P around the 4100 level so we'll see how that turns out as the grind continues on.

I see tomorrow's CPI a wild card, that could move the market either way..........................

Out for a 20 point profit, hmmmmm, think I'm going to go play tennis and surfing soon but know I'll be selling higher if we get back there, grind grind grind....
