You guys might also want to do some research into regular old niacin B3 (Nicotinic Acid version).
There is an extremely strong correlation to levels of NAD+ in the system to Covid severity, as Covid severely depletes it.
It is speculated that since kids have very high levels to starts with, this is the main reason they essentially do not get sick from it. (I can verify that with my own kids, who have been exposed countless times, and only had very minor symptoms once.)
There has also been a ton of anti-aging work looking at NAD+ as a prime suspect.
Nicotinic Acid is great pre-cursor to NAD+, and can actually restore NAD+ levels in both sick and healthy folks.

Niacin Cures Systemic NAD + Deficiency and Improves Muscle Performance in Adult-Onset Mitochondrial Myopathy
Here, we report systemic NAD+ deficiency in adult-onset mitochondrial myopathy patients. We administered an increasing dose of NAD+-booster niacin, a vitamin B3 form (to 750-1,000 mg/day; clinicaltrials.govNCT03973203) for patients and their matched controls for 10 or 4 months, respectively. Blood NAD+ increased in all subjects, up to 8-fold, and muscle NAD+ of patients reached the level of their controls. Some patients showed anemia tendency, while muscle strength and mitochondrial biogenesis increased in all subjects. In patients, muscle metabolome shifted toward controls and liver fat decreased even 50%.
And they also been having some success giving Niacin and Selenium to Long Covid folks, again targeting NAD+ levels.

Note with Niacin...liver toxicity has been seen at a dose around 3gr (3000 mg)...so more is not necessarily better.
And I would advise against slow or sustained release version for long term use, as toxicity has been seen at much lower levels, due to there being 2 different pathways that Niacin can use in the Body.
The instant release version that causes the flushing quickly uses up the bandwidth on the more dangerous path to the liver, and the vast majority goes down the safer path.
With the Slow or Sustained release version, due to the trickle effect, about 80% of the dose goes down the more dangerous pathway to the liver. Toxicty with Sustained release has been seen at dose as low as 500mg when used for many years.
